Bayern Munich came back from behind to clinch victory against FC Copenhagen in matchday two of the Champions League. The Bavarian club scored late in the game to take all three points. Mathys Tel was once again the hero for the Bavarian faithful as he scored another crucial goal for Bayern after coming off the bench in the second half.
The French forward has been the go-to player for Tuchel and Bayern this season to make an impact from the bench. Tel has scored five goals across Bundesliga and Champions League in 146 minutes on the pitch. He is currently averaging a goal every 29.2 minutes for Die Roten this season. The French forward also scored against Preussen Munster in the first round of DFB Pokal.
Tel was heavily linked with a loan move away from Rekordmeister in the summer transfer window. Augsburg and Tottenham Hotspur showed interest in the youngster, but he was determined to stay in Munich despite no assurances from the club over playing time
.The 18-year-old forward is determined to become a big player for Bayern. While talking to Carre last week (via AS), Tel revealed that several clubs, including Real Madrid, were interested in signing him from Rennes, but he had set his heart on a move to Munich after listening to the club’s project for him.
