BBC Update: Willy Gnonto has sent a one-word message to Leeds United teammate after win v Watford….

Willy Gnonto has sent a one-word message to Leeds United teammate Georginio Rutter after the club’s 3-0 win against Watford.

The young Italian attacker was ruled out of the clash due to injury, but Rutter played the entire 90 minutes at Elland Road on Saturday (23 September).

Joel Piroe, Sam Bryam and Jaidon Anthony all scored in the second half to secure the three points for Daniel Farke’s side.

Taking to social media to celebrate the win, Rutter posted on Instagram: “+3. Big win, clean sheet. Thanks for the Amazing support.”

Among those commenting on the post was his Whites teammate Gnonto, who wrote: “Thanks.

Leeds started the season poorly under new manager Farke, but perhaps the man in the dugout just needed a bit of time to get to know his squad properly.

It may have been a rather late show against Watford, but it is a huge three points, and demonstrates that the Whites shouldn’t be messed with.

The Elland Road faithful would have been very frustrated in the summer following their club’s relegation from the Premier League, but in this current form, they look like they may bounce back immediately.

The West Yorkshire club do, of course, still have a long way to go to make it back into the big time, but they have now climbed to sixth spot in the Championship table.

Farke’s men will be focusing on their own fortunes, but may just have one eye on fellow relegated side Leicester City, who sit top of the standings on 21 points, eight ahead of the Whites.
