Bill Simmons confirmed: LeBron James has officially announced his trade to the Miami Heat in a blockbuster deal.

Some in the media are questioning whether it might be time to dismantle the Los Angeles Lakers and rebuild from the ground up given that the team is struggling to even finish above.500. Of course, LeBron James and Anthony Davis are the two most valuable trade chips on the team. It is possible to argue that James is still among the league’s top-15 players at 39 years old. He might be the difference that pushes one of these underdog teams over the edge if added to a championship contender. In all likelihood, the Lakers won’t trade for James unless he explicitly expresses his desire to be traded. At this point, he represents the franchise and is departing from the most illustrious  It would be a difficult decision for the greatest NBA team to relocate.
