Report: Man City honestly think they will now sign ‘one of the best talent in the world’
Manchester City are reportedly confident of securing a summer transfer deal for Josko Gvardiol during this period.
It was reported earlier this month that the Citizens are preparing to make a move to sign the RB Leipzig defender.
Now, however, some new behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding the Manchester club’s hunt for the centre-back.

According to a recent report by 90 Min, City are continuing talks with Leipzig over a possible deal for Gvardiol and are confident they can arrange a move to the Etihad Stadium with the player himself.
The report also adds that a possible stumbling block in this deal is the transfer fee, with City not intending to pay the €100m price tag Leipzig are willing to raise for him, although the Manchester club are still confident in an agreement. he will be hit this summer. Dubbed “one of the best talents in the world” by Fabrizio Romano, Gvardiol showed what he is capable of during the Croatian season at the last World Cup in Qatar, where he showcased his defensive qualities.
Notably, the defenseman finished the season with the highest averages of clearances (5.3) and steals per game (1.6) on the roster, having started in all seven tournament games.
This could explain why the Manchester club are apparently interested in bringing the 21-year-old to Etihad this summer and adding him to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
If the people behind the scenes at City can negotiate a deal with Leipzig that suits all parties going forward, it could be a good deal for them if Gvardiol becomes a key figure at the club in the long run.
