Report: Two clubs now eyeing swoop for £57m Man City star; Pep has already told him what to do.
Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has reportedly found himself on the radar of two of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Citizens have already seen one player make a move away from the Etihad Stadium during the current summer transfer window, as it was announced that Ilkay Gundogan will be joining Barcelona.
Now though, another one of City’s squad figures could be on his way out of the club before the window closes.
According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal and Juventus have an interest in signing the centre-back, but Pep Guardiola has apparently told Laporte he will report to preseason training in two weeks with the rest of his City teammates.
City signed the Spaniard back in the 2018 January transfer window from Athletic Bilbao in a deal worth a reported fee of £57m.
Since then, the centre-back has made 179 appearances for the Manchester club across all competitions, chipping in with 12 goals and winning a plethora of trophies.
In our view, if the European champions end up sealing a deal for Gvardiol and a suitable offer comes their way for Laporte, then they should consider offloading the 29-year-old, especially if he wants to join a club where he’d be a regular starter.
