Boulaye Dia didn’t return to Salernitana after the international break in an apparent post-transfer market wobble, but the striker has now made his way back to Campania.
The 26-year-old Senegalese striker shined in his debut season in the Italian topflight, scoring 16 goals in 33 league matches. He played a vital role in the Granata’s survival in Serie A and was signed definitively from Villarreal at the start of the summer.
Dia seemed destined to leave for a more competitive club in the summer but a move failed to materialise. He did not join his teammates after the international break and tension seemed to be brewing.
As highlighted by TMW, Dia has now returned to the Campania capital and will undergo the usual checks ahead of his return to the Salernitana squad.
He will soon return to action for the Granata and is seemingly focused on the new season, moving on after failing to make a change in the summer.
