Even though there are still no contract talks between Bayern and Thomas Müller’s agent, a renewal beyond 2024 would be very conceivable if the player maintains his current form. The people in charge and Thomas Tuchel are very happy with how Müller is presenting himself – on and off the pitch.

Former Tottenham defender William Gallas has heaped praise on Son Heung-min for stepping up in the absence of Harry Kane. Amid plenty of question marks over how Spurs would fare following the England captain’s departure to Bayern Munich, Tottenham have got on just fine in his absence and currently sit one point off the top of the Premier League table.
Not only stepping up in terms of scoring goals after contributing with six in his last four games for Tottenham, the 31-year-old is also relishing the responsibility of wearing the captain’s armband after Ange Postecoglou named him as Hugo Lloris’ successor on the eve of the new campaign. Making such an impact for Tottenham under the new boss, Gallas has been left very impressed by Spurs’ No.7.
“I think Son has really stepped up in the absence of Harry Kane,” said the ex-Tottenham defender in an interview with Gambling Zone. “Replacing Kane’s goals would have been Tottenham’s biggest concern when he left. Son can score plenty of goals, but he didn’t produce what we know he is capable of last season so there were always going to be doubts.
“It looks like the captaincy suits him. He seems to be thriving as the team’s captain and is loving the responsibility. He is also a great example for his teammates. He is living up to everyone’s expectations of him and has had a perfect start to the season. I hope that he can stay fit for the rest of the season because Tottenham do look a little bit short without him.
“It’s not easy to replace Harry Kane. At the moment not only has he replaced Harry in terms of his goal scoring, but he has also replaced Harry in terms of his leadership and setting an example to the rest of the squad. He is doing really well at the moment and I hope that continues.”
Another player who has really caught Gallas’ eye this season is summer signing Micky van de Ven. Joining in a big-money deal from Wolfsburg at the beginning of August, the Dutchman has slotted in incredibly well and has deservedly earned plenty of plaudits in the process.
