Ilia Gruev urged to speak with Daniel Farke after lack of game time

Former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie has urged Leeds United’s summer signing Ilia Gruev to knock on Daniel Farke’s door and find out what he must do to force his way into the Whites XI.

The Bulgarian midfielder signed for Leeds during the summer transfer window, but is yet to get a run of games in Farke’s starting XI. The 23-year-old has made three appearances for the Whites, all in the dying minutes of games.

“The first thing you do is you go and speak to the manager and ask what you have to do to get in the team,” he told Football Insider. “The manager will tell you if you have to get fitter or whatever else. If he tells you you are not going to be part of the team then at least you know.
