“Something really concrete”: First Liverpool bid for £50M gem is imminent.
Liverpool are set to submit a bid for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia with competition from Chelsea and Arsenal.
Speaking to Redmen TV, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri revealed that the Reds are set to submit a bid to Southampton imminently.
He said: “If it is not this week it will be next week. This is something really concrete.”
The Reds have informed the player’s representatives that they plan on making a bid to Southampton in the immediate near future.
Liverpool have let Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Naby Keita and Arthur Melo go and need to replace them this summer.
Alexis Mac Allister has already joined the Reds and may soon be joined by Lavia. On Monday, Southampton received an enquiry from Liverpool over a potential £50M move to Anfield, the Daily Mail reported.
Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in the midfielder as well although with the Blues opening talks with Brighton for Moises Caicedo and Arsenal bidding £105M for Declan Rice, Liverpool might have a clear run at signing Lavia.
If Liverpool can swiftly follow their deal to sign Alexis Mac Allister by adding Lavia, it will be an encouraging sign.
The transfer window officially opens on the 1st of July and with pre-season set to start on the 8th, Klopp will be hoping he doesn’t need to wait long for all his transfer targets to join the club.
