Breaking news: Liverpool will now pay £35m to sign ‘very special’ La Liga player

Liverpool are looking for new midfielders but a new name has been mentioned in weekend reports, this time in the form of Barcelona’s Franck Kessie.

While it’s common knowledge the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo and Manu Kone are all on the Reds’ list, Kessie’s name is a new addition.

The Barcelona man could be among a number of players to leave the Catalan outfit this summer. And according to Inter Live, Liverpool could make their move.

Liverpool looking at Franck Kessie

Inter Live’s report claims that Inter Milan are big fans of Kessie and want to bring him in to ‘add muscle’ to the midfield areas.

However, the Champions League finalists are concerned about a potential bid from Liverpool. It’s claimed that the Reds could come forward with an all cash offer of around £35m for the Ivorian midfielder.

course, Kessie is already well known in Milan. He spent a good spell with AC Milan before moving to Barcelona. Despite not doing quite as well as he’d have like in La Liga, he has featured regularly for Barca and got himself a title winners medal in the process.

With the Spanish outfit needing to balance the books, a move for Kessie could well be on the cards.

RTK’s View: More of a gamble than others

That’s not to say the Ivorian isn’t a good player. It’s just that given he’s not quite hit the heights at Barcelona many thought and the fact he has no experience in England, means he could be more of a risk.

Of course, we face the same issue when it comes to players like Kone and Thuram. And in fairness to Kessie, he is only 26 still so there is more than enough time for him to adapt and do well.

£35m isn’t the biggest fee ever either. So realistically, you can see why Liverpool want to sign him.

This one would be one of the more surprising transfers though. But if it does happen, then it would certainly be interesting to see how Kessie adapts to English football.
