Arsenal have been made to sweat as Manchester City have registered an interest in one of their targets who has grabbed plenty of headlines of late.
Both Arsenal and Man City are expected to fight it out at the top of the Premier League table again. Both clubs enjoyed successful transfer windows with several smart additions being made.
Arsenal are certainly no stranger to signing a Man City player or two as they currently have Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko in their ranks.
The two clubs have also gone toe to toe in the transfer market over the years. Pep Guardiola’s side were interested in signing Declan Rice this summer, but Arsenal ultimately beat them to the deal.
With the two sides gunning for Premier League glory, it’s no surprise that they will cross paths in the transfer market. According to a fresh report, Man City could rival Arsenal for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.
Last month it was claimed that the Gunners were the ‘most likely’ side to make a move for the youngster, but these plans could be scuppered by Man City.
A host of Premier League clubs have already expressed an interest in the 18-year-old and it seems as if Man City are now preparing to enter the race.
According to iNews, Man City are among a number of elite clubs that are currently ‘monitoring’ the breakout Brighton star.
Ferguson grabbed plenty of headlines when he slotted an impressive hat-trick against Newcastle. The youngster clearly has an eye for goal and it’s no wonder so many sides are interested.
Ferguson tipped for the very top
Along with Arsenal and Man City, the likes of Man Utd and Tottenham have also been linked with the teenager. Brighton will be well aware of this interest and they won’t be willing to let him leave on the cheap.
Ferguson is under contract with Brighton until 2028 so the club is in a strong position to determine his value. Brighton are certainly no mugs in the transfer market as they have made vast profits on plenty of their players over the years.
