Rangers-linked manager Graham Potter is now interesting Manchester United and Napoli.
That’s according to the Sun, who claim the former Brighton and Chelsea manager is hot property as he assesses his options.
The report claims that Graham Potter is “keeping an ear out” for Manchester United as the axe hovers over under fire Dutch coach Erik Ten Hag.
Rudi Garcia is also under pressure at Serie A Champions Napoli after a disappointing follow up season to last year’s success under now-Italy coach Luciano Spalletti.
With the report written by journalist Alan Nixon, it shows that Graham Potter’s stock remains high despite his disastrous stint in charge of Todd Boehly’s evolving Chelsea side.
The links to Manchester United and Napoli also suggest that those reports around Rangers and Graham Potter were never realistic.
The highly-rated British coach was one of the most prominent names mentioned early on in Rangers’ recent managerial hunt.
There were even claims prior to the sacking of Michael Beale that the Ibrox side had sounded out Graham Potter about taking the job in Govan.
However as those Rangers links progressed and Beale was sacked Graham Potter’s camp quickly moved to rubbish any suggestion the manager might move to Ibrox.
This was after Graham Potter had already turned down an approach from Lyon with the now-Manchester United linked manager reportedly biding his time for a return to the Premier League.
Rangers also weren’t waiting about as the club looked to appoint their 19th permanent manager.
Rangers would then whittle down the managerial hunt to two men with Belgian boss Philippe Clement eventually being chosen over Australian manager Kevin Muscat.
Philippe Clement got his Rangers reign off to a strong start with a 4-0 win over Hibs at the weekend and should this form keep up it’ll have everyone at Ibrox forgetting about the notion of Manchester United managerial candidate Graham Potter taking over at the club.
