Report: Leicester are ready to lower Maddison asking price – Spurs are confident.
Have reported that Leicester City are now willing to lower their asking price for Tottenham target, James Maddison.
The Foxes were reportedly determined to receive a fee of around £60m for their star playmaker, but are now ready to lower that figure.
Spurs are said to be confident that they can land the England international for ‘much less’ this summer, with the Lilywhites having always been Maddison’s preferred destination.
SPORT claim that Tottenham’s position in negotiations has been strengthened by the fact that Newcastle United are not guaranteed to place a bid for the midfielder.
Spurs are confident of cut-price Maddison deal.
This comes as The Telegraph reported today that Tottenham are ready to submit their opening bid of £40m plus add-ons and additional instalments for James Maddison.
It is said that the North London side want to agree on a deal with Leicester this week, and seem to think Spurs are confident about getting their man.
The news coming out of this deal is all sounding rather positive this week. However, anyone who has been a Spurs fan for more than five minutes knows to hold back the excitement until Maddison is seen holding up a Lilywhite shirt.
