Liverpool target Micky van de Ven is now a subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur
As per transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur are exploring a move to sign Wolfsburg defender and Liverpool target Micky van de Ven.
It is also revealed that Tottenham have begun direct talks in the hope to make this move happen. The Dutch U-21 is keen on a move to North London and a verbal proposal will be submitted soon.
A few days ago, Evening Standard reported that Spurs had joined Liverpool in the race for van de Ven. The player has spoken about his desire to play in the Premier League. Wolfsburg would demand something in the region of £26m to sell him this summer.
The 22-year-old is a left-sided defender who predominantly was used as a left-sided centre-back in a three-man defence by Wolfsburg boss Niko Kovac. He can play in a back four as a centre-back and a left-back as well.
The Dutchman is very quick across the ground, hence playing in a high defensive line won’t be a problem for him. He is an exceptional reader of the game and a decent aerial duel winner. He is great at passing with accuracy too
