Breaking News: two super striker battle them self on shirt number after transfer window….

The two experienced stoppers will be left to battle it out for the number one shirt at City

Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior believes signing Ryan Allsop is a big boost to the Tigers, given the fact the pair have worked together before.

Allsop arrived from the Tigers’ Championship rivals Cardiff City in the closing hours of the summer transfer window as Rosenior sought to end his search for a goalkeeper to challenge Matty Ingram, having moved away from signing Karl Darlow earlier in the window.

Rosenior and Allsop were reunited at City having worked together at Derby County, with the Tigers head coach believing Allsop’s knowledge of Rosenior’s system and demands will help him acclimatise to life in East Yorkshire quickly.

The 31-year-old former Ram was picked out for praise by Rosenior last season when the Tigers beat Cardiff at the MKM Stadium, and it’s his ability with his feet to play that is crucial.

“Ryan is a very good goalkeeper and it would be right for me to mention the fact that Matty Ingram is a very good goalkeeper. I’ve got two really, top, experienced Championship goalkeepers in the building and that’s what I want,” Rosenior told Hull Live.

He caused us so many problems in that game. We were dominant and 1-0 up and then they brought on the land of the giants and Ryan can kick the ball accurately 80 yards off the floor onto people’s chests and it caused us problems.

“Ryan’s had the benefit of working with me and the staff at Derby and an understanding of knowing when to play long when to play short.

Matty’s been excellent in terms of his improvement in that process and that’s one of the great things about bringing Ryan in because he understands already, he’s had a year working with me. We’ve not had to re-educate a goalkeeper.

“Karl Darlow was a great example and Karl will tell you that he improved massively as a goalkeeper in the six months he was with us, and it’s great to see him move on with his career.

“It wasn’t to be that he came here but if anyone asked Karl Darlow about his time here, he’d say he learnt a lot and improved immeasurably from where he was when he came in.
