According to Sébastien Denis, Wolverhampton Wanderers have had a loan bid rejected for Salernitana forward Boulaye Dia (26) rejected. The offer was made late on Thursday night and was a paid loan move with an obligation-to-buy clause included within the deal.

Despite the late bid from Wolves, Salernitana have rejected the offer and want to keep their striker beyond tonight’s transfer deadline. The former Reims forward only joined the Serie A side from Villarreal this summer after his loan move became permanent for €27m.

Wolves are hoping to bolster their squad with Ligue 1 talent before the transfer window closes, after making an offer for Strasbourg’s Jean-Rincer Bellgarde and the player reaching an agreement over personal terms. Despite reaching an agreement on personal terms with the player, Wolves have seen their first offer for the French midfielder rejected by the Racing club. Wolves are looking to replace Matheus Nunes who has joined Manchester City.
