Newcastle full back Jamal Lewis is wanted on loan by Championship side Watford.
The 25-year old, who joined Newcastle from Norwich City in 2020 after missing out on a move to Liverpool, was left out of Eddie Howe‘s Premier League squad in January and remains out of his plans ahead of the new season.
Lewis has made 36 appearances for the Magpies during his time at St James’ Park.
The Northern Irish defender played 26 times in his debut season for the club, but made just six appearances the following campaign.
Lewis featured for just nine minutes in the Premier League last season, with Dan Burn established as Newcastle’s first choice left back.
The left back had played 100 times for Norwich before joining Newcastle, after coming through the Canaries academy.
Lewis, who has earned 30 caps for Northern Ireland, was part of the Norwich side that lifted the Championship trophy in 2019.
