The latest Nottingham Forest news as the club have confirmed the permanent transfer of Sam Surridge
Nottingham Forest have confirmed the exit of striker Sam Surridge, who joins American side Nashville SC on a permanent basis.
The striker has been with the club since signing from Stoke City in January 2022. He played a key part in the club’s promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, scoring seven goals in 17 league appearances.
Surridge found regular game time hard to come by in the Premier League last season. Although he did make 27 appearances in all competitions. He scored once in the Premier League, with most of his appearances coming from the substitutes bench.
The news comes after Surridge himself confirmed his Forest exit with a post on social media. “I want to thank everyone associated with Nottingham Forest,” he said.
“Since I arrived here I have felt nothing but serious pride in myself to play for this massive club
Now it’s time to move on and write a new chapter for myself. I want nothing but success for this team and supporters in the future. Thank you, Sam.”
Forest are said to have received a fee of around £5million for the striker. He could be in action as early as Friday, when Nashville take on Toulca in the Leagues Cup Group stage.
