Bundesliga Winger Wants To Join Aston Villa this summer

In a recent report, Bild revealed that Bayer  Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby wants to join Aston Villa this summer. However, it is understood that the Villans will face competition from Saudi Arabia in the race to sign the French wide player in this off-season.

Diaby enjoyed a productive campaign at the German club as he put in a lot of fruitful displays for them on the attacking end of the field. The 24-year-old found the back of the net on 14 occasions and earned 11 assists in 48 matches for Leverkusen last season in various competitions.

The French sensation was a consistent performer on the right flank based on his average of 2.4 shots, 1.8 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He even distributed the ball accurately in the final third as evidenced by his pass success rate of 79.2% in the German first division (stats via whoscored).

Diaby’s current deal at the Bundesliga club will run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, the Villans would have to make a big offer if they want to recruit the Frenchman ahead of the new campaign.

Should Aston Villa Boss Unai Emery Bring Diaby On Board?

Diaby is an excellent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can shoot the ball with venom from all ranges. He can make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks and can create some decent plays for his teammates in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The France international mainly operates on the right wing but can also fill in as a left-sided wide player or play in the number ten position if asked to do so.

Diaby would add a lot of pace and goals to Aston Villa‘s frontline. He has what it takes to be a regular feature in Unai Emery’s first team next season. Furthermore, the French wing wizard could help the Villans compete for European football in the Premier League over the next few years. Thus, the West Midlands club should try everything they can to bring Diaby on board before the start of the new campaign.
