Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovačić decided to change clubs after spending five years at Chelsea.
In the summer transfer, he joined Manchester City, where he arrived as a sort of replacement for Ilkay Gundogan. The German midfielder decided to leave for Barcelona after winning the treble, and Kovačić is expected to take over his role.
Kovačić has already had the opportunity to make two appearances for the ‘Citizens’ during the preseason tour. Although he has been at the club for a very short time, he claims to have quickly realized the quality of coach Pep Guardiola.
“I’ve only been here for two weeks, but I immediately saw that Guardiola has great ideas. It’s a higher level. I think he is the best coach in the world,” said the popular ‘Kova’, expressing his enthusiasm for the Spanish strategist.
