Darryl Strawberry of the Mets has finally returned to the field officially after suffering a heart attack.

Former New York Mets great Darryl Strawberry, who won several World Series championships in his career, disclosed on Monday that he is recuperating from a heart attack.

Instagram users saw Strawberry sharing a picture of himself in the hospital with his loved ones.

He captioned the social media post, “Praising God for His amazing grace and loving mercy in saving my life this evening from a heart attack,” “I’m delighted and thrilled to say that everything is good.

“I am incredibly grateful to the medical staff and team at St. Joseph West in Lake St. Louis for their prompt response and successful stent treatment, which has completely restored my heart! In Jesus’ name, I sincerely appreciate your prayers as I continue to heal.

The Mets selected Strawberry with the No. 1 overall pick of the 1980 draft, and he was called up to the big leagues for the 1980 season. He was named National League Rookie of the Year in his first season and was an All-Star eight times after that.
