SAD NEWS: David Datro Fofana is having ‘private troubles’……….

WHAT OCCURED?The striker joined Union on loan in the summer to gain more playing time and further his career. Chelsea executives thought Union would be the best fit for him because they could offer Champions League action as well, giving Fofana much-needed European exposure. However, after 453 minutes of involvement across all competitions, the 20-year-old has failed to live up to expectations and is yet to score a goal. Union’s sporting director, Oliver Ruhnert, has recently disclosed that Fofana has experienced personal issues that have impacted his football.

“Changing the results is not that easy for a young player,” he told Kicker.”He also had personal issues at times.” Something interesting happened. He also lacks some goals to give him confidence.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Fofana is not the only English loanee struggling at Union, as Aaronson is also having to adapt in after joining the Bundesliga club from Leeds United. The USMNT forward has made five appearances in the German Bundesliga, all from the bench, and has yet to score or assist.

WHAT COMES NEXT?After the international break, Aaronson and Fofana will look to reverse their fortunes and force their way into Urs Fischer’s plans. Union are scheduled to face VFB Stuttgart in a Bundesliga match on Saturday.
