Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is reportedly set to ‘push back’ interest from Forest
Nottingham Forest are set to be turned down by Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in the transfer market, according to a report.
The 26-year-old looks set to leave the north London club this summer, with Tottenham said to be keen on selling him before the transfer deadline on September 1.
Forest are linked with interest in the midfielder, along with French club Rennes and Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. Ndombele played 30 Serie A games while on loan at Napoli last season, and was borrowed by Lyon the year before that.
According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, Ndombele is set to “push back” both Forest and Fenerbahce, while a deal will be too expensive for Rennes. All of the interested clubs have now been given the asking price.
Hawkins tweeted: “Galatasaray is interested in Tanguy Ndombélé. Tottenham wants to sell his midfield and would like to recover between 15 and 20M €. Rennes has inquired but it’s too expensive.
Forest are looking for a new central midfielder this summer, with PSV’s Ibrahim Sangare the top target. Tyler Adams was said to be a target before he joined Bournemouth from relegated Leeds United. The Reds also reportedly hold an interest in Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi.
Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, meanwhile, looks set for an exit and has been linked with a surprise move to Leeds in the Championship. He is unlikely to feature in head coach Steve Cooper’s plans this season, despite being handed the squad number six.
