Finally, £10 million is guaranteed as a Leeds United player confirms that agreements are in progress, offering a major transfer boost for 2024
Apart from LS11, a great deal of Leeds players have burned bridges by leaving during the summer while still being signed by the team.
After leaving the team in the summer, many fans have good reason to question why these players are even receiving air time, but in 2024 they might generate a sizable amount of transfer revenue.
Real Betis was Marc Roca’s destination in the summer window, and he’s making a lot out of his return to La Liga this season, with four goals already this term.
His performances in midfield for Manuel Pellegrini’s side have seen him enter the conversation for a first Spain senior call-up – even though he’ll have to wait until March for another chance at that.
Huge transfer boost for Leeds
Roca joined Leeds back in the summer of 2022 from Bayern Munich for a £10million fee, which could have been a bargain if we tapped into his undoubted quality.
However, the Premier League posed more of a challenge to the Spaniard, as his struggles to cope with the physical demands of the league were exposed very swiftly, despite his passing prowess.
The fact that he’s back to his best is great news for the player himself, but also for Leeds, who will now be in talks to cash in on the player that doesn’t seem to have a future here.
How much Leeds get for him remains to be seen, but given that Leeds paid £10million for him last season, it would be likely that we at least break even on him.
Such an outgoing puts Leeds in a much stronger position in 2024 if the club is promoted.
