Up-to-date information about Nottingham Forest as right-back Serge Aurier gets closer to leaving the City Ground late
According to reports, Serge Aurier, a defender for Nottingham Forest, is considering joining Galatasaray.
On the day of the deadline, Aurier appeared certain to sign with the Turkish powerhouses, but the two teams were unable to reach a payment arrangement. In Turkey, the transfer window doesn’t end until February 9, so Galatasaray has time to finish the transfer.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano now claims that Aurier’s relocation to Turkey is “back on” and “imminent.” The right-back may want to relocate to Rams Park, according to reports.
In order to give Neco Williams some competition at right back, Aurier joined Forest last season. For the Reds, he has made 41 appearances, contributing two assists and one goal.
The former Tottenham right-back played just one game for Forest, losing to Everton 1-0 at home at the beginning of December. Aurirer is currently playing for Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations after missing six games for the remainder of 2023 due to a calf strain.
After eliminating Senegal, the African champions, on penalties in the previous round, the hosts are now in the quarterfinals. On Saturday at 5 p.m., they play Mali, but he is anticipated to finalize his transfer to Galatasaray.
With Aurier’s departure, Forest will have finished their hectic January transfer window. Along with Gio Reyna and Rodrigo Ribeiro, goalkeeper Mats Selz left the team last month along with several other players.
After joining Orel Mangala, Jonathan Panzo, Alex Mighten, Brandon Aguilera, Emmanuel Dennis, Scott McKenna, and Ethan Horvath all went out on loan, signaling the end of Orel Mangala’s time in England.
