A 26-year-old “outstanding” midfielder has finally agreed to sign a contract with Nottingham Forest.
That’s what Sky Sports Germany says.
What has been said about Forest’s involvement with Neuhaus, then? Let’s investigate more closely.
Florian Neuhaus is asked about by Nottingham Forest
It seems that Forest will look to replace Orel Mangala, with the Belgian and Napoli having reached personal terms.
The midfield player wants to leave Monchengladbach, and multiple teams are reportedly vying for his signature, according to Sky Sports Germany.
It is unlikely that Forest will be able to sign him easily because higher-profile parties like Sevilla and Lazio are interested.
At this point, losing Mangala would be very bad for Forest. Chiekhou Kouyate and Ibrahim Sangare are both competing in the African Cup of Nations right now.
That transaction might happen later in the transfer window, and it seems like Forest is looking to add more players right now.
Florian Neuhaus: who is he?
The German midfielder moved from 1860 Munich to Monchengladbach in 2017, and he has played in the Bundesliga his entire career.
A gifted midfielder with 190 appearances for his current team, he can play as a number 10 or in a traditional role.
The player has struggled a bit this season; he has only started seven games in the Bundesliga and isn’t regarded as a regular member of the squad.
In his ten appearances for the German national team, Neuhaus has scored two goals.
With a contract that expires in 2027, Neuhaus may now be on the move, so Forest may need to go above and beyond to acquire the midfield player.
Marcus Thuram has praised Forest-affiliated Neuhaus in the past. When the two were playing for Monchengladbach in 2020, he referred to him as “outstanding.”
Rumor score: 7 out of 10. Just because we don’t know how he will perform in the Premier League makes it difficult to rank him higher on this one.
We will state, though, that George Syrianos is clearly associated with this signing, and his players have generally shown promise.
He was in charge of Taiwo Awoniyi, Moussa Niakhate, and Mangala’s raids of the Bundesliga; all three players were successful at Forest.
In light of this, we think Neuhaus to Forest looks good.
It will be interesting to watch if the player is eager to join the team this month.
