DONE DEAL Leicester finally defeated Leeds to finalize the signing of South American offensive player

Leeds United, in third place, and Leicester City, the league leaders, will probably be interested in watching this weekend’s Copa Libertadores final.

This is due to the fact that they are just one of several teams interested in signing a player from Fluminense, according to TeamTalk.

Strengthening in the middle of the season is usually a smart idea, if only to create competition for spots, as both clubs aim to return to the Premier League at the earliest opportunity.

A club’s ability to win a title or lose one could depend on its transfer activity in January. While it is acknowledged that money plays a role, there is uncertainty about the level of ambition a club has.

Daniel Farke at Leeds is hardly likely to do that, and Enzo Maresca at Leicester has also shown his ruthlessness when needed.

Whether either are able to acquire Jhon Arias in the new year is unclear at this point, with TeamTalk also noting that Rangers, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Burnley will have scouts at the final to run the rule over the Colombian.

Five goals and three assists from 24 games this season (three as sub) per WhoScored, doesn’t scream prolific, but with so many clubs following the player, there must be something they see in him which is worth investing in.
