DONE DEAL: Manu Kone Agree to join Liverpool’ claims pundit as ‘big summer’ of transfers predicted

Tony Cascarino has claimed Liverpool will sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone in the summer transfer window.

The Reds have already added Argentina World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister to their ranks ahead of next season. But, in what is expected to be a busy summer at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp is eyeing more midfield additions.

Former Republic of Ireland international striker Cascarino “would love” Liverpool to sign Declan Rice. However, he admits the West Ham United captain will be out of the Reds’ price range.

But Cascarino, who spent the final six years of his career in France with Marseille, Nancy and Red Star 93, believes Liverpool will

Cascarino told talkSPORT: “Manu Kone is one they have been looking at. It has been talked about in France that he is going to Liverpool.

That has been out there for a while. I do think they are reinventing that midfield and it was necessary. “I don’t think they will get him. But certainly, if they took Declan Rice, then I would love it.

“I just don’t think it will happen. There are other clubs in front of Liverpool for Declan Rice.

They have done it once before where they have spent really big on Alisson and van Dijk in a short period of time. I think this summer they will do again big, but it probably won’t be Rice.”

Arsenal are said to be the frontrunners for Rice, who could be sold for as much as £100m. Liverpool dropped out of the race for the Real Madrid-bound Jude Bellingham faced with paying a similar fee.
