The former Forest striker has outlined the reasons why Firmino would not be a good signing for Nuno’s side.
Well, Roberto Firmino, a former forward for Liverpool, has been linked to Nottingham Forest.
Forest is one of the teams interested in signing Firmino during the January transfer window, according to a report from AS earlier this week.
Last month, TalkSPORT reported that Firmino, who makes £326,000 a week (The Mirror) at Al-Ahli, is dissatisfied with the structure his team uses.
Al-Ahli, a Saudi Pro League team, is reportedly open to loaning out the Brazilian forward.
“There have been some rumors recently that several Premier League clubs are interested in bringing Roberto Firmino back to the Premier League,” Collymore wrote in CaughtOffSide.
It has been reported that Fulham, Sheffield United, and Nottingham Forest are all interested. Firmino at either of the previous two would never be my first choice, but I believe Fulham and a potential strike partnership with Raul Jimenez could be a really intriguing setup.
“Fulham is a good team on their day, and I believe they should sign him if they have the opportunity because he would improve them even further.
“As for Forest and Sheffield United, I don’t think either would be the right club for him, even though Forest’s owner loves a big name and they’re a more progressive and attractive team.
“For me, it’s really simple—if he has a choice between the three, he should consider Fulham, especially because he would also have the opportunity to work with Portuguese-speaking manager Marco Silva. He’s 32 years old now, and he doesn’t need to be involved in relegation scraps.
