DONE DEAL: The Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold has signed to a one-year contract, officials reported to ESPN.

Sam Darnold, the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, has agreed to a one-year contract, sources told ESPN.

Following his four-year contract extension with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, longstanding franchise star Kirk Cousins made room for the Vikings at quarterback.

In an attempt to regain his worth as a future starter and learn from coach Kyle Shanahan, Darnold signed a one-year contract with the 49ers during the summer after spending five seasons divided between the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers.
