Done Deal: Toma Basic signed an official six-month contract with Salernitana this month, after leaving Lazio on loan instead.

, who left Lazio on loan this month, has officially signed a six-month contract with Salernitana.

Maurizio Sarri informed the 27-year-old Croatian midfielder that he was not part of his plans for this season in the summer, but he chose to stay in the Italian capital in an attempt to persuade the coach.

In December’s Coppa Italia Round of 16 victory over Genoa, Basic played just nine minutes and was unable to establish himself on the Lazio team this season.

Basic from Lazio has now joined Salernitana on a six-month loan agreement without a buyout clause, as was confirmed this week. This means that Basic will return to the Italian capital in the summer. In the summer of 2026, his contract with the Biancocelesti comes to an end.

Since moving to Rome from Bordeaux in the summer of 2021, the midfielder from Croatia has not appeared to be a very good player. He has made 70 appearances for the team, contributing two assists and two goals.
