DONE Medicals: Liverpool Welcome Man Utd £34m after medical completed as make signing in late-night….

These are the latest transfer rumours from the Premier League and around the world on Thursday, August 24.

United deal on the brink and medical completed

L’Equipe report that Manchester United are on the cusp of signing Nice’s centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo.

United boss Erik ten Hag has been desperate to boost his defensive options, and an unconvincing start to the Premier League season has only heightened that need.

Harry Maguire is now sticking around after a move to West Ham United collapsed but ten Hag wants more depth at centre-back.

Todibo is priced at £34.1million and has come onto United’s radar after a move for Benjamin Pavard looks to have hit the skids.

Todibo has played for Barcelona, Schalke, and Benfica but has found his rhythm at Nice.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce keeper Altay Bayindir has undergone a medical in Greece after United agreed a fee in the region of €7million for the stopper.

He will arrive in England soon to complete his move.

Late-night signing for Liverpool

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed Liverpool have signed highly-rated Leicester City talent Trey Nyoni in a late-night update yesterday evening.

The 16-year-old has joined the Reds’ ranks after a lengthy pursuit.

Romano confirmed the news last night. He wrote on Twitter: “Done, completed. Talented midfielder born in 2006 Trey Nyoni joins Liverpool from Leicester.”

Nyoni is set to go into the club’s under-18 ranks.

He follows in the footsteps of Ben Doak, Kaide Gordon and Harvey Elliott who all joined the club around the same age and went onto thrive in and around the first team under Jurgen Klopp.

Chelsea end interest in Johnson

Chelsea have ended their interest in Wales and Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson – because he wants to sign for Tottenham.

Both London clubs are tracking the attacker, with the Reds putting a £50million price tag on his head.

Brentford and Aston Villa have also been monitoring the youngster, with the Bees previously having a £30million bid knocked back.

The Times now report the Blues have ended their pursuit of Johnson after learning he wants to join Spurs.

Regular game-time is said to be something that features highly in Johnson’s decision-making process.

Arsenal set for £35m boost

Arsenal’s transfer coffers are set to be boosted by around £35million as striker Folarin Balogun moves closer to the exit door.

The US international spent last season on loan with French club Reims and now wants regular game-time.

He doesn’t look likely to secure that at the Emirates and boss Mikel Arteta is happy for him to leave north London.

A bidding war could be about to start for the 22-year-old, with Chelsea, Fulham and Ligue 1 side Monaco keen on his services.

talkSPORT report the French club are about to launch a £35million bid for the youngster. That cash could yet be invested back into Arteta’s squad, with a new right-back a priority after Jurrien Timber’s serious injury on the opening day of the season.
