Evangelos Marinakis has outlined his determination to restore Nottingham Forest to English football’s elite after another ambitious transfer campaign.
Despite selling homegrown star Brennan Johnson to Tottenham for £47.5million on the final day of the summer window, Forest also added seven new players on the same day, including midfielder Ibrahim Sangare for a club-record £30m from PSV Eindhoven.
Even without any of the new arrivals in the starting XI, Forest then delivered one of their best results since returning to the Premier League last season, winning 1-0 at Chelsea on September
In an open letter to supporters, Marinakis wrote: ‘Our vision is clear and unwavering: we are on a path to re-establish Nottingham Forest as a dominant force in English football.
‘We are investing in youth development, nurturing young talent, and building a squad that can compete at the highest level for years to come.
