EXCLUSIVE: Brentford bid £30m for three word best striker for Nottingham Forest forward their star despite Tottenham interest

Brentford have made a £30million offer to Fiorentina for Argentina striker Nico Gonzalez.

The Bees remain in contention for Brennan Johnson at Nottingham Forest but Tottenham are considered favourites.

Brentford have made a move for the 25-year-old Argentina international, who was forced to miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to injury.

The 25-year-old contributed 14 goals and five assists in 42 appearances for the Viola last season.

His contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi runs to June 2026 and he was signed from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2021 for €24.5m plus bonuses.

The Serie A side are close to signing Lucas Beltran from River Plate and M’Bala Nzola from Spezia.

Brentford have reached a £30million agreement with Arsenal for goalkeeper David Raya as the player prepares to become Mikel Arteta’s next star signing.

The Spaniard has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal and is set to undergo his medical with the club this week ahead of being unveiled as a new player.

A deal is expected to be confirmed between the two clubs, with Raya set to sign a five-year contract until 2028.
