Fabinho replacement:Liverpool finally pay £65m for signing of Joshua Kimmich…..

Liverpool are reportedly edging closer to the signing of Joshua Kimmich after receiving encouragement that Bayern Munich are willing to sell the versatile star.

The Merseysiders are close to losing two midfield stalwarts in Fabinho and Jordan Henderson with lucrative moves to Saudi Arabia on the horizon. And while Al Ittihad’s move for Fabinho is reportedly in danger of collapsing, their club’s president is doing all he can to keep the deal for the Brazilian on course.

Nonetheless and regardless of whether Fabinho moves on, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp still very much remains in the hunt for midfield reinforcements.

Indeed, having also lost James Milner, Arthur Melo, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita, the Merseysiders are much lighter in the engine room at present

at the Allianz Arena.

Having fallen out with previous coach Julian Nagelsmann, it was claimed Bayern were keen to sell the star, who can operate in either defensive midfield or right-back.

However, the appointment of Thomas Tuchel is believed to have seen that stance vastly altered.

Now, though, it seems a change of heart is on the cards again.

Bayern have ambitious plans in this summer’s market. To that end, they’re chasing deals for both Harry Kane and Kyle Walker.

Bayern willing to facilitate Kimmich sale to Liverpool
However, neither deal will come cheap and, after seeing two offers already turned down, they are now readying a bold third offer for Kane.

Furthermore, leaked reports about their plans to offer the player – who turns 30 this week – a five-year deal means they will likely now have to sell before they can buy.

To that end, a deal to take Marcel Sabitzer to Borussia Dortmund is close to being finalised.

But now reports in Spain claim they are also willing to listen to offers for Kimmich too.

As a result, Liverpool are reportedly set to ‘submit a proposal’ to bring the 79-times capped Germany star to Anfield.

And Bayern Munich are reportedly willing to sell if they receive a proposal in the region of €65m (£56m).

While that does seem pricey for the 28-year-old, Klopp knows he would be landing a proven winner in Kimmich.

Moreover, his ability to cover two positions could also free up Klopp’s to move Trent Alexander-Arnold into midfield. And with Kimmich in the side, Liverpool would be landing on a player who could effortlessly slot in to cover the England man.

The report concludes that Liverpool believe for Kimmich can see a move being ‘finalised’.
