Fabrizio Romano confirmed :finally join top US athletes who are part owners of European football clubs

Kevin Durant, PSG’s new minority owner

The Phoenix Suns forward is reportedly set to expand his business portfolio by purchasing a minority stake in Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), one of Europe’s most prestigious soccer clubs.

According to reports from Romain Molina and confirmation by renowned soccer insider Fabrizio Romano, Durant’s investment in PSG marks his latest venture into the world of sports ownership.

The move places him alongside fellow American athletes like LeBron James, who holds a stake in Liverpool F.C., and former NFL stars J.J. Watt and Tom Brady, who have invested in Burnley F.C. and Birmingham City F.C., respectively.

PSG, which has dominated the French Ligue 1 with 10 championships since 2012, is a powerhouse in European soccer.

The club, owned by Qatar Sports Investments since 2011, was valued at approximately $5.7 billion in 2023.

With Durant’s involvement, PSG is poised to enhance its brand presence in the United States, potentially paving the way for a Ligue 1 TV rights deal in America, where the league currently lacks a broadcast partner
