Luke Ayling’s contract at Leeds United is about to expire, and according to TeamTalk, the club has decided to offer the right-back a one-year extension, which will be made available to him in January.
Ayling, 32, has been with Leeds since the summer of 2016 when he transferred there from Bristol City. He has played in an incredible 263 games throughout that period. Despite having 289, Liam Cooper has been a Leeds player since 2014.
The report also claims that Ayling and his family are “extremely settled” in Leeds, indicating that he intends to remain there. Ayling will have to decide, but he should be aware that he might not be the first option.
Luke Ayling will be presented with a new one-year contract from Leeds United.
It demonstrates how highly Ayling is regarded by Farke both on and off the field. The German believes Ayling still has much to offer in terms of his ability to play football, but it will be his leadership that will be important.
Perhaps Ayling’s availability at all times as well. Last season, when Rasmus Kristensen was brought in to take his place, he was able to keep producing strong performances and keep Rasmus Kristensen out of the picture.
It demonstrates how resilient and devoted Ayling has been throughout time. He signed a new one-year agreement at Elland Road last season, and recent reports indicate that he might be poised to do the same for us
