Steve Cooper has spoken about new acquisition Ibrahim Sangare and how he has adjusted to life at the City Ground.
The Reds signed the 25-year-old midfielder on deadline day for a sum that may increase to £35 million if certain performance-based add-ons are reached.
Sangare has had a strong start to his City Ground career, with strong displays against Brentford and Crystal Palace.
Cooper has expressed his satisfaction with the midfielder, congratulating him after being nominated for African Player of the Year.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference yesterday, Reds boss Cooper admitted that he’s enjoying working with the midfielder.
“It’s always great to get recognition for an award like that, obviously most of that time he was playing in Holland, but now he’s here.
Off the field, he’s really settled in, he’s a good boy who works extremely hard, and we’ve seen some really promising indicators.
“As we’ve seen with many of the lads making their Premier League debuts, it takes some getting used to, and some get there faster than others.”
“We’re really happy with him because he’s really engaged and he’s going to be important for us and the club going forward.”
Although Sangare has had a great start to his Forest career, there is clearly more to come from him.
He’s only six games into a long and successful time at the City Ground, and the 25-year-old possesses traits that can propel the team to the next level – a top-half finish is the goal this season.
