At the conclusion of the current campaign, Kaizer Chiefs are anticipated to lose four of their most seasoned players. There will be a new coach unveiled.
Amakhosi have had a season to forget having only accumulated 36 points from 29 games. The Soweto Giants currently lie 8th in the DStv Premiership with one round of fixtures still to go. A convincing win against Cape Town Spurs this coming weekend will see them finish top eight but anything less with see them fall out. Failure to finish in the top eight will automatically see them out of the MTN8 competition.
The Glamour Boys have not won a trophy in nine seasons despite changing coaches regularly. Amakhosi are set to bring in a new coach next season as they look to rebuild once again. Five players so far are set to leave Kaizer Chiefs end of the season. Here are some of the names:
After 25 years at the club, Khune will depart Chiefs this season. The 36-year-old rarely featured this season and this past weekend, the former Bafana Bafana star was honoured. He featured in the last 15 minutes as Amakhosi were held to a goalless draw against Polokwane City. The keeper insisted retirement was not on his mind and vowed to come back stronger in the next campaign.
