Current Nottingham Forest news as the Reds, led by Nuno Espirito Santo, look to strike deals before the January transfer deadline
The hunt for a goalkeeper at Nottingham Forest seems to be over as the transfer deadline draws near.
According to a number of reports, the Reds and Strasbourg have reached an agreement for Belgian Matz Sels. A medical examination is scheduled for this afternoon, with a reported cost of approximately £5 million (6-7 million euros).Earlier in January, Forest’s plan was to stick with Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos as their No.1 and No.2 after both joined on permanent deals last summer. However, neither has particularly convinced and the club’s stance changed as the end of the window neared. Rui Silva, Koen Casteels, Aaron Ramsdale, Caoimhin Kelleher, Kasper Schmeichel, Peter Gulacsi, Jose Sa and Keylor Navas were also mentioned as potential options.But it is Sels who looks set to link up with Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad. The Reds have already added attackers Gio Reyna and Rodrigo Ribeiro on loan in a bid to bolster their resources for the second half of the campaign.
