Former Lakers Fan-Favorite Point Guard Signs 10-Day Contract With Pacific Division Rival

Isaiah Thomas, a former point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, will get another chance to play in the NBA. Shams Charania, a senior NBA insider for The Athletic, reports that the 11-year NBA veteran would sign a ten-day contract with the Phoenix Suns, one of his previous teams.

Thomas last played in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets at the tail end of the 2021-2022 season. He signed two ten-day contracts with the team and ultimately finished the season as a Hornet. He averaged 8.3 points a game on 43.3% shooting from the field and 39.7% from beyond the arc. For the last couple of days, he has been a member of the Salt Lake City Stars, the G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz. He was playing great basketball there, and the Suns decided to take a shot with the undersized guard.

The two-time NBA All-Star was moved to Boston during the 2015 NBA trade deadline after playing with the Suns from 2014 to 2015. The chance the former Laker has been waiting for will finally present itself. We hope he has luck in Arizona.
