Jobi McAnuff has told Sky Sports‘ coverage of Leeds United’s 3-0 win over Millwall that Joel Piroe really impressed him during Sunday’s win – and is surprised no Premier League clubs tried to land the striker.
Piroe, 24, joined Leeds in the summer for a fee of £10.5m. It comes after two years at Swansea, in which he scored 46 goals in 96 games. Two of which came in four Swansea outings this term, before Leeds.
Since his move to Elland Road, he has three goals in three. A goal on his debut against Ipswich and then on Sunday, a brace at Millwall. A very neat finish to open the scoring – a really clinical, striker’s goal.
The second, perhaps a bit lucky – tapping home Dan James’ scuffed effort which translates as a bit of an assist. Of course, it was Georgie Rutter who made it 3-0. A wonderful performance from Leeds.
