Miami Heat Linked to Sensational LeBron James Reunion via NBA Free Agency

Miami Heat news: At this point, the general expectation is that LeBron James will pick up his player option with the Los Angeles Lakers for the upcoming season. However, until the NBA’s all-time leading scorer puts pen to paper, the possibility of LeBron suddenly turning his back on LA still looms large.
In such a scenario, a team like the Heat could emerge as a suitor for James as they look to reunite with the same man who led them to back-to-back championships more than a decade ago.
Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World recently came up with a list of potential free-agent targets for the Heat this summer. The fact that LeBron was included on the list instantly makes him the headliner of what could be a very busy summer in South Beach.
Bitar estimates LeBron’s new deal to be somewhere in the range of $45 to $50 million per season, and that James will likely seek a two-year deal. That’s a whole lot of money, and it will require significant cap space maneuvering from Miami’s front office.
Then again, this is LeBron James we’re talking about here, so if the opportunity presents itself, it would be bad business for the Heat to not, at the very least, do their due diligence.
