Jurgen Klopp’s side did go back into the lead once again, but two late goals ensured it was the Bundesliga champions that were victorious.
With just ten days remaining until the Merseyside outfit get their Premier League season underway against Chelsea, Klopp will be hoping that his side can return to winning ways when they play their final friendly against Darmstadt on Monday.
In the meantime, it appears that Liverpool have made a huge offer for one of the Premier League’s most in-demand players.
As per Football Insider, the Reds have lodged a huge £100 million offer for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The report claims that Liverpool have entered the race to sign the Ecuador international and are planning to rival Chelsea for the player’s signature.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Caicedo for several weeks now, but a deal is so far yet to be agreed.
The West London side are believed to have had a number of offers for the player rejected, but Liverpool have now made contact to register their own interest in the 21-year-old.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have been heavily linked with a move for Southampton star Romeo Lavia as they look to bolster their own midfield options, but the Saints have so far held firm on their valuation of the Belgian.
With that in mind, it appears that the Reds have now moved to target Caicedo as an alternative amid their ongoing search for midfield reinforcements.
Caicedo joined Brighton from an Independiente del Valle back in 2021 and broke into the first team midway through the 2021/22 campaign.
He has now made 53 appearances for the club across all competitions, but his impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
