There were recent links to Eric Bailly, and it appears Fulham are seriously considering moving for the £80,000-a-week defender. The Ivorian has struggled for relevance due to a raft of injury problems and could not revive it during a loan spell at Marseille.
Manchester United have no interest in continuing with the defender, as Erik ten Hag does not count him as part of his plans. Veteran Jonny Evans could sign a one-year deal and extend his short-term contract with the club.
Moreover, since failing to join West Ham United, Harry Maguire appears like he will stay put and be a part of ten Hag’s plans for the current season. Hence, Bailly has no place at Manchester United and may have to find a way to play football elsewhere.
Fulham seem like an option, although Bailly was close to joining Al-Nassr earlier. The move to Saudi Arabia may have slowed down or collapsed altogether, and without any more viable options in place, the Cottagers might appeal to the Ivorian.
Silva will see his experience as pivotal to further his interest. But the Fulham boss must find a way to keep him fit for consistent periods. The injury issues bring a cloud of doubt about this potential signing. Otherwise, Bailly has been one of the consistent performers on the pitch whenever he has been around.
