Yesterday, the Hatters were linked, by several sources, including – Football League World – with the young Aston Villa striker, Keinan Davis.

Davis, still just 25-years-of-age, is currently on the books of Aston Villa but has failed to secure a first team place.

In recent seasons, Davis has spent loan periods with Nottingham Forest and, last season, with our near-neighbours, Watford.

During his loan periods he has not been the most prolific of scorers, at Nottingham Forest he scored 5 goals in 15 games and at Watford he netted 7 times in 34 games.

But his game is not just about goals, his powerful physique enables him to hold the ball up well, bringing his team-mates into play and he could be, on the positive side, a decent squad member, boosting our attacking quota.

However, on a negative note, although after the successful deal with Aston Villa involving Marvelous Nakamba, the Midlands based club, according to our referenced source, want anywhere between £4-7 million for the striker.

To me, that is, to put it mildly, more than a tad too much for a squad player.

But is that a view you concur with, or would you beg to disagree?
