JUST IN: Newcastle submit bid for ‘incredible’ forward with £56m price tag

Newcastle United are still said to be interested in Italian international Nicolo Zaniolo despite having an extremely stacked midfield already.

Eddie Howe has assembled a midfield that would make most other Premier League sides insanely jealous, but it seems he’s not done yet as he looks to try again to bring Nicolo Zaniolo to Newcastle.

However, reports from Turkey maintain that Newcastle are still in the race for the Galatasaray forward with Turkish outlet Millyet has listed Newcastle as one of five clubs interested in Zaniolo who has a £30m release clause.

The Nicolo Zaniolo saga is expected to go to the final day of the window

Millyet also say that they think that the saga could continue until the last day of the transfer window,

Meanwhile, The Express has shared that they believe Galatasaray would let Zaniolo go for £26million as hey need to recover money after falling into debt after suffering £219m worth of losses.

Zaniolo only joined Galatasaray in January from Roma after Jose Mourinho deemed him surplus to requirements. It was believed that Newcastle tried to bring him to St James’ Park back then but the Italian rejected the move and opted for Galatasaray instead.

Howe must have felt he was close to getting his man in January if he’s going back again this summer.

Zaniolo could have his choice of top clubs making life difficult for Newcastle

Alan Shearer said recently that he would like another forward through the door at Newcastle, and it looks like Eddie Howe agrees with him.

For me I’d still say a right-sided centre back and a left-back are priority, and then if there’s still some money left over maybe go for Zaniolo. The 24-year-old recently picked up a knock and missed Galatasaray’s last game, so it’s best to wait it out anyway.

But if Howe really wants Zaniolo at Newcastle he faces some stiff competition from Tottenham, PSG, Juventus and AC Milan. And if he’s really available for just £26million that could be a bargain too tempting to pass up.
