Nottingham Forest are “exploring the signing” of centre-back Josip Sutalo form Dinamo Zagreb, according to a report.
The 23-year-old has been on fine form in his native Croatia, playing well in the Champions League and breaking into the national team. Those performances have attract the eyes of scouts from across Europe, with Forest now preparing for a move.
That’s according to our colleagues at the Express, who also say Premier League rivals West Ham have been “exploring” the possibility of a deal this week. That’s amid reports that David Moyes is trying to sign Harry Maguire from Manchester United in the same position.
Dutch giants Ajax have held negotiations over a move for the young defender, but those talks appear to have broken down and that could allow Forest to swoop in and make a move. It is said that Dinamo Zagreb are looking for a fee in the region of £20million, plus a sell-on clause.
orest have reportedly made an offer for AS Roma centre-back Roger Ibanez this week, the Brazilian who shares an agent with Danilo and Felipe. But that has been denied by the player’s agent, with other claims circling that he has received an offer from a team in Saudi Arabia.
Head coach Steve Cooper is keen to sign a centre-back this summer, it seems, with a left-back also needed before the end of the summer transfer window. Fiorentina and RB Leipzig have also been linked with a move for Sutalo, so something of a bidding war could emerge.
