Kevin Hatchard has urged Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to ‘take a swing’ and look to secure the transfer of Bayern Munich midfielder, Leon Goretzka.
The Bundesliga commentator and European football expert added on Twitter that Leon Goretzka is ‘not as unsaleable at Bayern as he once was’ amid talk that he could leave this summer.
After selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for a club-record fee, West Ham United have emerged as a possible target for the German international, who has three years left to run on his Bayern Munich contract.
But with Jurgen Klopp refreshing his midfield this summer, including the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Could Goretzka be a player they target?
Well, if Jordan Henderson makes his expected move to Saudi Arabia and Fabinho follows him, then it certainly requires another big-name midfielder to arrive this summer at Liverpool.
Some Liverpool fans would argue that, with Fabinho and Henderson already on board, they should push for another up-and-coming midfield player anyway, as Hatchard shared his thoughts on Goretzka to Anfield.
Don’t think it will happen, but would be intrigued to see lfc take a swing at trying to sign Leon Goretzka from Bayern,” said Hatchard.
“Not as unsaleable at Bayern as he once was, but still a tremendous player who is built for the Premier League. I certainly think clubs will pull on that thread.”
