Latest Wolves news from BirminghamLive brings you an update on Ryan Giles after he was left out of Wolves pre-season squad
Luton Town are in advanced talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Ryan Giles, it has been claimed.
The 23-year-old has been attracting several interest from clubs this summer following an impressive loan stint at Middlesbrough last season. However, Giles is not part of boss Julen Lopetegui’s plans next season, with the club looking to sign Aaron Cresswell from West Ham.
Giles did not travel with the Wolves squad to Portugal to step up their pre-season preparations. According to Sky Sports, the newly-promoted Premier League side are set to seal a deal thought to be worth £5million for left-back.
Boro had also shown an interest to signing Giles on a permanent basis, having been in contact with Wolves throughout the summer. However, the the Hatters stepped up their interest in the last 24 hours.
Giles admitted to having the best season of his career at Boro, saying: “I’ve enjoyed it, and obviously the role has been a bit of a free one up and down the line. I’ve been involved in a lot, so that’s been great for me. I’ve been playing with fantastic players as well, which I think has brought the best out of me.
“And then playing here, in a fantastic stadium in front of atmospheres like this, it’s been a remarkable season for me personally and something I know will hope me move forward into the rest of my career. I’ve absolutely loved it here. It’s been a season to remember whatever happens. Probably one of, if not the best of my career so far
